Al Jazeera English comes to MoAD

King’s Hall within the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House was recently used as a venue for the filming of current affairs program 101 East which airs on Al Jazeera English television.

The theme of the program was Australia’s proposed new policy to tackle climate change and featured healthy discussion between panel guests – political commentator Lenore Taylor, Labor parliamentarian Mr Tony Zappia MP, and Liberal parliamentarian Ms Nola Marino MP.

King’s Hall, historically used as a meeting place between parliamentarians and the public, and a venue for exchange of information, provided an excellent backdrop to the political discussion and gave a special ambience to the program which was broadcast in over 100 countries and to over 180 million households across the world.
