Introducing… the Great Badge Swap!

Wed, June 1, 2011
  • Events

You can be part of the story of democracy – by donating a badge to the Museum of Australian Democracy Great Badge Swap!

The Museum of Australian Democracy explores the stories of people who shape and challenge democracy. You can help the museum tell that story by donating a badge that you have worn to communicate a message important to you.

Badges communicate an unspoken message. For over a century, Australians have worn badges to express their identity, solidarity, dissent, pride, anger, celebration, commemoration, protest, humour or hope.

Your badge is a snapshot of Australia’s evolving democracy. Your experience of wearing that badge is part of our history and future.

Tell us your story about the personal experiences or memories your badge represents. These badges and stories could become a permanent part of the Museum of Australian Democracy’s collection and feature in our exhibition Living Democracy.

Visit the Great Badge Swap website here.
