The museum is in the final stages of implementing the Democracy Download, an online learning resource that will complement student programs incorporating Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The innovative application of this technology to create student trails won the 2010 IMAGinE Award for excellence in public and education programs in NSW and ACT. It allows students to work in small, collaborative groups as they engage with exhibition content.

The Democracy Download is a downloadable resource that recalls the unique, interactive trail students take, the objects they encounter and the choices, opinions and decisions they give.

Suggestions are given for individual, small group and whole class activities to extend students’ learning. These activity suggestions support the core knowledge, understanding, skills and general capabilities of key learning areas in the Australian curriculum.
