No politician can afford to ignore the economy. More so than anything else, the state of the economy can make or break or Governments. The ability of our politicians to control the nation’s finances is a regular theme of political cartoons. Between them Larry Pickering and Geoff Pryor have ensured that no Government, from Whitlam to Howard, has escaped their critical gaze on the issue of the economy.
