The change in government also meant there was a new pet in the Lodge. Toto the cavoodle had gained plenty of attention on the campaign trail, and become a darling of the cartooning community. First Dog on the Moon felt there might be a lot more to Toto – and her role as ‘first dog’ – than meets the eye.
