The Big Environmental Legislation

In March it was reported in several newspapers that Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek’s key policy could impede Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen’s clean energy plans. In imagining the conflict, Megan Herbert casts an over-sized Plibersek, her ubiquitous koala friend and the policy as Australia’s latest ‘big thing’. Falling into that strange place between novelty architecture and sculpture, roadside big things are beloved and ridiculed in equal measures, but very much part of the Australian landscape.
