No News Is Good News

Two men with overgrown beards and large signs on their chests that say 'No longer obsessing that the end is nigh' and 'Eschewing any evidence that we're all doomed!' One says, 'We've both been so much more relaxed since embracing news avoidance.'

Hello visitor, welcome to end of the exhibition (assuming you went around in a clockwise fashion). Behind the Lines zooms in on how cartoonists comment upon the news of the day. And a lot of that news is bleak and could drive one to donning a sandwich board announcing visions of the apocalypse. Is this final work piece a metaphor for the work of the cartoonist? Fiona Katauskas speculates that we’d all be happier if we embraced a little more news avoidance in our lives.
