Crafty school holiday fun for every age.
Join us for craft, outdoor painting, a hat-making workshop, and Open Air PlayUP this spring school holidays. Find out more below.
Craft
Create and decorate lanterns, make paper friends and other kindness-themed art.
- When: 26 September – 4 October
- Time: 10am – 4pm
- Where: Learning space. Please enter through the main doors and staff will direct you.
- Age: all ages

Open Air PlayUP
Come along and enjoy outdoor play in our Senate Courtyard. Build blocks, play a game, practise your skipping, or settle in for story time in the sunshine. Bring a picnic (without nuts) to make a day of it.
Prefer to play indoors? PlayUP will be open as usual from 9am to 4:30pm, with facilitated craft running from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Cloud gazing and painting workshop
Come and cloud gaze with us for an outdoor painting workshop led by local Canberra artist, Ineka Voigt.
- When: 1 October and 2 October
- Time: 10:30am – 11:30am and 1pm – 2pm
- Where: House of Representatives Courtyard. Please enter through the main doors and staff will direct you.
- Age: 5 – 12
- Cost: $10
- Note: all art materials will be supplied. In the case of wet weather, the workshop will be adapted for indoors. Dress for a mess!

Hat-making workshop
Design and craft paper hats in a hat-making workshop with award-winning picture book author, Andy Geppert.
- When: 6 October, 10am – 11am and 2pm – 3pm and 7 October, 10am – 11am
- Where: Education workshop. Please enter through the main doors and staff will direct you.
- Age: 5 – 12
- Cost: $15
- Note: all materials will be supplied.

Plan your visit
The Learning space, Education workshop, Senate Courtyard and House of Representatives Courtyard are wheelchair accessible. The courtyards are grassed areas with concrete paths.
Seating is available in the Learning space and the Education workshop.
There are nappy bins in the toilets on the Lower Floor near the Senate Courtyard.
There are baby changing facilities on the Main Floor near PlayUP.
