What happens in parliament?

Find out how laws are created and what happens in Question Time.

These bite sized podcast episodes are a collaboration with Squiz Kids for Schools. They explore civics in our everyday lives and show us how we can participate in our democracy.

This episode explores the differences between the two chambers of parliament. Students can learn about what politicians do in the House of Representatives and the Senate, how laws are made and why Question Time is an important part of our democracy.

Students can use the activity sheet while listening to the episode to write down their thoughts about what happens in parliament.
