The ‘Newton’s cradle’ office toy first appeared on business executives’ desks in the 1960s. Reimagined here by Le Lievre, it places Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews in an unenviable spot. The cradle’s demonstration of the unwavering law of the conservation of energy and momentum neatly illustrates the unavoidable political impact of the hugely infectious coronavirus.
