In February wild wind and storms, coupled with a sudden temperature drop, whipped though Victoria, disrupting train lines and knocking down six transmission towers in Anakie, a small village north of Geelong. More than a half a million Victorians were left without power. Megan Herbert blends this story with the contemporaneous incident of Barnaby Joyce filmed lying on his back talking on his phone in a Canberra street.
