David Pope
Richard Marles has been the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence since 2022. He has been at the centre of many international stories, including the war in Gaza and the ongoing negotiations about the AUKUS defence pact with the United States and the United Kingdom. David Pope’s reference to the stage musical and film Grease puts Marles in the Olivia Newton-John role, besotted with the cool American T-birds.
