Inheriting the Mecha-Department

A large robot which looks vaguely like Peter Dutton holds terrified Immigration Minister Andrew Giles in its grasp. Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says, 'Oh, goodness no, Mr Giles! This was only ever designed as cosplay to keep Peter occupied! It was never equipped for actual policy.'

Malcolm Turnbull, sporting a tin can top hat (a common David Pope embellishment that alludes to his social standing and his time as Communications Minister), re-appears in a cartoon which also harks back to Peter Dutton’s time as Home Affairs Minister. Dutton is pictured as a robot clutching current Immigration Minister Andrew Giles, whose resignation he’d recently called for. Not long after this cartoon was published, Turnbull called Dutton a ‘thug’ and accused him of ‘division and animosity, generally targeted at immigrants’.
