Only Words

A politician stands at a podium. Many of his speech bubbles overlap, things like 'We know you're doing it tough' and 'The system is broken.' He leaves, and people take his words, and try to assemble the letters into a makeshift shelter.

Political Cartoonist of the Year Megan Herbert takes this maxim both figuratively and literally. Herbert turns a politician’s platitudes into a picture that shows the inadequacy of words without concrete action.
