Former prime minister Scott Morrison, who was the Minister for Social Services when the Robodebt Scheme was implemented, gave evidence at the Royal Commission hearings. The final report from the Royal Commission’s inquiry found that Morrison had ‘failed to meet his ministerial responsibility’ in relation to the scheme. Morrison later released a statement in which he rejected the adverse findings made against him.
