No Guts, No Glory

Australian politicians play a chaotic game of netball.

Megan Herbert responds to the theme of Behind the Lines 2024: No Guts, No Glory by drafting some of our major politicians into a competitive netball game. A deserving Political Cartoonist of the Year winner, the judges praised her versatility, her visual technique and her ability to create both inspired gags and insightful social commentary.

This year’s judging panel comprised TV personality, sports journalist and educator, and Yankunytjatjara and Wirangu woman, Shelley Ware; cartoon academic Dr Lucien Leon; Cathy Wilcox, President of the Australian Cartoonists Association; Anne-Marie Condé, Head of Interpretation and Curatorial at MoAD; and Behind the Lines curator Matthew Jones.
